Can an Umbrella Factory Help Source T-Shirts, Drinkware and Paper Bags?

Yes—when suitable suppliers are available, Guangzhou Hand in Hand Umbrella Factory can help umbrella customers source printed T-shirts, promotional drinkware and paper bags. These additional products are made by outside suppliers, not by our umbrella factory. Agreed sourcing support may include quotations, sample communication, order follow-up and shipping coordination. Our service fee is 5–8%, depending on the work involved; the exact rate, calculation base and scope must be agreed in advance.

Why do umbrella customers ask us to source other products?

We specialize in umbrellas, but a customer’s purchasing list may also include clothing, cups and packaging for the same promotion. After working with us on umbrella samples, quality, pricing and delivery, some customers ask whether we can help with these additional items.

I used to answer, “We do not make that product.” Now I first consider whether we understand the product and have suitable supplier contacts. Starting again with another supplier takes time: buyers must explain artwork, compare quotations, approve samples and arrange transport.

Helping can make sense when the work is within our capabilities and the time involved is fairly paid. Customer trust is not a reason to promise services we cannot deliver.

Two customer requests: matching T-shirts and a wider promotional range

Cameroon: T-shirts with the same print as the umbrellas

A customer from Cameroon wanted T-shirts printed with the same content as his custom umbrellas. We do not have a clothing factory, but I have some knowledge of garments and access to relevant factory contacts.

I explained that we could help find a supplier, obtain quotations and follow up on the order under an agreed service arrangement. The T-shirts would come from another manufacturer. If the customer wanted our follow-up support, we would agree the work and a service fee within the 5–8% range beforehand.

The customer could also receive the supplier’s contact details and communicate directly. The important point was to distinguish product manufacturing from purchasing assistance.

Ghana: printed T-shirts, promotional cups and paper bags

A Ghanaian customer studying in China was pleased with our umbrella quotation and then asked about three additional products: printed T-shirts, custom promotional cups and printed paper bags.

We explained that these were not made in our factory, but we could contact suitable suppliers, obtain quotations and discuss the level of follow-up required. Coordinated shipping could be considered if the different production schedules and transport requirements allowed it.

These examples describe customer requests and service discussions—not claims that all the additional products have already been manufactured or delivered.

What can our promotional product sourcing assistance include?

The scope is agreed separately for each project. Supplier availability, product familiarity, order requirements and the time we can commit all matter.

Service Possible assistance Confirm before starting
Supplier search Contact relevant factories for the requested product Product category, specifications and supplier suitability
Quotations and requirements Communicate quantities and printing requirements; obtain quotations Products, processes and costs included in each quote
Sample communication Coordinate sample feedback, confirmation and dispatch as agreed Who approves samples and pays sample and courier charges
Order follow-up Request production updates and communicate agreed matters Milestones, reporting method and limits of follow-up
Shipping coordination Discuss dispatch based on actual readiness and transport conditions Whether consolidation is practical and who pays each cost

This is a list of negotiable services, not an all-inclusive package automatically attached to every order.

For example, an Israeli customer once asked for help finding suppliers of all-terrain vehicles and water-sports boats. Those products are far from our everyday business. Our assistance was mainly supplier searching and introductions, rather than full procurement management.

Introducing a supplier and managing an order from start to finish are different services.

How is the 5–8% sourcing service fee calculated?

Our 5–8% range reflects the complexity of the agreed work. It is our service arrangement, not a universal industry rate. Supplier communication, sample follow-up, dispatch arrangements and occasional site visits take time and resources.

The calculation is:

Service fee = agreed calculation base × agreed service percentage.

The calculation base is not automatically the total combined order value. Before proceeding, the buyer and our team need to identify exactly which amounts are included or excluded.

Confirm these four points:

  1. Work included: Is the request only for a supplier introduction, or also quotations, samples and production follow-up?
  2. Calculation base: Which agreed amount will the percentage apply to?
  3. Exact percentage: Which rate within the range applies to this project? A range alone is not a final fee.
  4. Other charges: Are samples, couriers, site visits, handling and logistics included or separate? How will extra costs be approved and paid?

A quotation saying only “5–8% service fee” is incomplete. Buyers need the scope, base and exact rate to judge the total cost.

Direct communication with the supplier is also an option to discuss. Whether to delegate depends on the buyer’s available time, experience and needs.

Is buying everything together always cheaper?

No. Coordination may reduce repeated supplier searches and communication. Combined shipping may also reduce some logistics costs when the schedules and transport conditions fit. But service fees, samples and other handling charges still belong in the comparison.

Waiting for one unfinished item can delay umbrellas that are ready to ship. For a promotion with a fixed event date, tell us the latest acceptable arrival date before deciding whether to consolidate or send separate shipments.

We do not promise lower total costs or simultaneous delivery simply because several products are purchased together. The umbrella production timeline should be considered alongside the other suppliers’ schedules. See our custom umbrella order process for the umbrella side of the project.

What makes this arrangement worthwhile?

For the buyer, the potential value is less repeated searching and clearer coordination through a familiar contact. For the supplying factory, clear specifications, artwork and sample feedback may reduce back-and-forth communication. For our team, payment for the additional work makes the service more sustainable.

These are potential benefits, not guaranteed results for every order. Compare the coordination value with the full cost and the agreed limits of the service.

Frequently asked questions

Do you manufacture the T-shirts, cups and paper bags yourselves?

No. Umbrellas are our main business. The additional products are manufactured by other suppliers; we provide only the sourcing assistance agreed for the project.

Can I contact the supplier directly?

Yes, we can discuss providing supplier contact details for direct communication. Any further support and its terms should be agreed beforehand.

Does the 5–8% fee cover every expense?

Not automatically. The calculation base, exact percentage and work included must be confirmed. Sample, courier, site-visit and logistics expenses must either be expressly included or listed separately.

Can these products ship with my umbrellas?

Possibly, depending on completion dates, transport conditions and your required arrival date. Consolidation and freight savings cannot be guaranteed before those details are checked.

Can you source any product?

No. We prioritize familiar products where suitable supplier resources are available. For unfamiliar categories, our role may be limited to searching for and introducing suppliers.

Send your umbrella and promotional product requirements together

If you are ordering umbrellas and also need T-shirts, drinkware or paper bags, send us:

  • Product photographs or reference designs.
  • Specifications and quantities for each item.
  • Logo artwork and printing requirements.
  • Delivery destination and required arrival date.
  • The help you need: supplier introduction, quotations, sample communication, order follow-up or shipping coordination.

We will first assess whether we can help, then confirm the service scope and fees. You can also review our factory capability and umbrella quality control information.

Umbrellas remain our core business. For additional products, we explain who makes them, what we can do and what the assistance will cost—before the work begins.
